Jr. Phenoms - 2011

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The third annual girl’s adidas Junior Phenom Camp was held at Alliant International University, Aug. 2-5, featuring more than 180 of the top 2011, 2012 and 2013 players from all over the U.S. The camp concluded with All-Star games for each class, and we showcase a few of the players that shined in the 2011 game:

(87) Whitney Adams, 5-11 C, Chicago Hoops (Illinois)
One of the other surprises of the camp, Adams showed very nice potential to evolve into a top-notch 2011 wing prospect. While she was listed as a center she showed the ability to pass and find open teammates, shoot the three and take people off the dribble, and play pressure defense.

(14) Cierra Burdick, 6-0 SG, Queen City Jewels (North Carolina)
Bouncy and athletic player who can really score. Long arms and lateral quickness. Excellent ball handler, passer and defender. I hate to say it, but she reminds us of a young Candace Parker. Cierra dominated the All-Star game, and was named MVP of the game and also was ranked the No. 1 overall player in the camp. Be on the look out.

(33) Alissa Campanero, 5-1 PG, EBO (California)
Undersized lead guard was impressive in the game with her 3pt shooting skills, and displaying nice savvy and court vision.

(117) Chelsea Canham, 6-1 C, Tucson Heat (Arizona)
Underrated center runs floor decent and is an inside scorer. Potential is intriguing.

(120) Keiahnna Engel, 5-8 SF, Lady Lynx Ballers (Alaska)
Physical defender is an excellent rebounder and scorer.

(60) Ashlee Guay, 5-3 PG, OLP (California)
Crafty point with nice upside; not one of the strongest kids, but she is one of the finest passers, and a kid who really understands the game

(15) Ashlin Gross, 5-11 SG, IMG Panthers (Arkansas)
Emerging young scorer has good range on her jump shot and is a legitimate major combo-forward prospect.

(23) Britney Holliday, 5-7 G, Carolina Cougars (South Carolina)
Very athletic combo-guard is an excellent slashing scorer and exciting finisher. Britney is very aggressive and skilled. One of the quickest guards around.

(55) Whitney Holloway, 5-3 G, Chicago Hoops (Illinois)
Smooth lead guard makes good decisions and always plays with poise rare in young playmakers. Holloway has a nice mid-range game, and is strong and quick with the potential to be a harassing defender.

(54) Jamie Johnson, 5-8 PG, Chicago Hoop (Illinois)
Good PG has a rock-solid handle and knows how to run a team. Underrated scorer played well throughout the camp.

(24) Hayden Latham, 5-9 W, Carolina Cougars (South Carolina)
Strong and athletic wing makes plays at both ends of the floor. One of the surprises of the camp is a real sleeper in this class.

(68) Natilie Markovich, 5-9 SF, AZ Premier (Arizona)
Skilled wing forward with a very nice jumper showed off her versatile skills here at this camp.

(121) Cora McManus, 5-11 C, Rotary Style (Washington)
Big-time post player, good defender, has the potential to be very good.

(118) Carli Rosenthal, 6-3 C, Spokane Blazers (Idaho)
Excellent center prospect does not only take care of business inside on the scoring end but showed flashes of being a great defender as well. Will be an elite major prospect, has big-time body.

(51) Imana Samuels, 5-1 PG, West Coast Fusion (California)
Young, but very talented lead guard can really see the floor well. Terrific defender anticipates well and makes big plays at both ends of the floor.

(97) Sophia Terrassi, 5-6 SG, EBO (California)
Terrassi has a very nice feel for the game and excellent scoring stroke. Underrated rebounder, too Very good student, and should have a few inches left

(84) Cashala Thompson, 5-7 SG, Tucson Heat (Arizona)
Thompson is a big time 2011 prospect. Great work ethic and attitude and improving skills make her one player to keep both eyes on.

(1) Kathryn Tolbert, 5-9 G, Titans (Texas)
This kid can flat out play. Good ball handler is a strong and aggressive penetrator and finisher. Decent outside shooter competes on every play.

(88) Taylor Tuck, 5-11 SG, I.C.E (Illinois)
Athletic and strong off-guard has a reputation as big-time defender and while she did get lots of steals and blocked shots, she also showed flashes of the skills that make her a standout prospect in this class.

(4) Elizabeth Williams, 6-2 C, Lady Neptunes (Virginia)
Aggressive inside player with energy plays excellent defense. Exceptional post scorer can really intimidate on the inside. Blocks and rebounds everything. One to track in this class. Williams has great hands and footwork, and showcased a lot of skill in the low block. Elizabeth is also an ace in the classroom.
