Welcome to HoopGurlz.com!
Don't forget to bookmark us!
In case you haven't heard about us, HoopGurlz.com is the only website in the country that covers only high-school girl's basketball and women's college-basketball prospects on a national basis. Our mission is to provide an independent voice for girl's basketball and an objective, journalistic approach to the coverage of the sport. We take responsibility for our content and acknowledge the security issues regarding a female sport. This is why we post our head shots and bio beneath all of our stories.

We also were honored by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) for our writing/reporting and HoopGurlz.com also is a two-time Golden Web Award winner for design, content and creativity, as well as a recipient of the Sunset Surfers Silver Medal of Excellence! How to Get Your Player Profile Page
- Click on the Contact Us [1] link, choose Player Profile Pages in the Category list and submit:
- The basics we require for a Player Profile Page include accurately spelled name, high school with location (city and state), class and height.
- You also should send career accomplishments and honors in the format displayed on other player pages (Award, year ... Accomplishment, year ... Eg., Player of the Year, Hometown Newspaper, 2006. ... Co-captain, 2005).
- Also extremely helpful is a digital head shot, sent as a separate file (.jpg) attached to the email. It is perfectly acceptable to have someone take a head-and-shoulders shot with a digital point and shoot. Even better is a professional portrait, but that is not necessary! If you are shooting your own photo, choose a neutral background and have the subject stand away from the background, as standing too close will cast unflattering shadows. You also may send (high-quality) action shots - in addition to, but not instead of, the head shot. Please make sure you have permission to use the photo! The photographer almost always owns copyrights to a photo.
- Again, any photos must be attached as a separate .jpg file. Any imbedded in a Word or any other kind of document is unusable.
- You also should send recruiting information, if you truly are being courted by schools and have interest in them. If you (or the prospect you are representing), has higher interest in specific schools, please note that.
- Finally, our Player Profile Pages now allow players to maintain a blog on their own page. Remember, your blog will be displayed to the public, which includes the college coaches who may be recruiting you. Some examples of things you might want to blog are facts about yourself, your club-team schedule and stats, among other thing. Entries must be tasteful. Anyone who crosses the threshhold of taste, with HoopGurlz staff being the final arbiters, will have her blogging privileges revoked. Some violations may result in revokation of the Player Page.
- To request blogging privileges, you first must sign up for a free membership at HoopGurlz.com. Then submit your account information, a verifiable but not overly public fact about yourself and a valid phone number, and we will set up the blog.
- For an explanation of our rankings, please click here [1].
