About HoopGurlz.com

Welcome to HoopGurlz.com!
Don't forget to bookmark us!

In case you haven't heard about us, HoopGurlz.com is the only website in the country that covers only high-school girl's basketball and women's college-basketball prospects on a national basis. Our mission is to provide an independent voice for girl's basketball and an objective, journalistic approach to the coverage of the sport. We take responsibility for our content and acknowledge the security issues regarding a female sport. This is why we post our head shots and bio beneath all of our stories.

We recently have been named as a finalist for a prestigious Online Journalism Award. We also were honored by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) for our writing/reporting and HoopGurlz.com also is a two-time Golden Web Award winner for design, content and creativity, as well as a recipient of the Sunset Surfers Silver Medal of Excellence! Will Harbeson of SunsetSurfers.com says, "It's been a long time since I've seen a site so full of information as yours. Very impressive visits. The site is clean, navigates easily and is a real tribute to your efforts."

The aim of this site is to celebrate and expose the great players and teams across the country, and improve understanding and communication in our great sport. Here, you can find:

How to Get Your Tournament Listed

HoopGurlz is happy to list your tournament for free if your event is a fundraiser and you are connected with a not-for-profit program. Because of the size and reach of our website, your listing could be worth hundreds of dollars, so we simply ask that you link to HoopGurlz.com on the front page of your website, if you have one. To have your tournament listed, please follow the exact format of the existing listings (date, name of event, location, grades, fee, contact information)

Here is an example of a correctly submitted tournament listing:
